Winter Dreams of Spring

On a ceiling of night pattern pirouette’s
Around the symbolic hub of Spring and Winter
Angels spin lines that tell stories
Of Ice Maidens formed as stalactites over many winters
Of dew frozen into crystals by cold night air
That dream of floating seeds and dancing trees
The ritual hunter’s jig of Rabbit and Fox
As children swing around the Maypole
All moving to the tune of Spring.
